  • Are you an experienced and highly skilled Fabricator Welder with ownership of your work? Have you considered leading a group of welders with the same goals and passion? Are you willing to contribute to our growth in a highly productive environment?

    We are looking for a skilled Production Welder to transform raw steel into high quality consistent frames ready for hot dip galvanizing. Your job is the foundation for the final Kea product and there is a high expectation of your commitment to quality and productivity.     More than 40,000 trailers have been built at Kea Trailers and all happens here in Maui St, Hamilton, always innovating and offering custom solutions to cater for our customer's specific needs.

    Our successful applicant will have:
    • Certificate in Engineering (Level 4) or Proven Equivalent Experience
    • 10+ years of experience as a Fabricator Welder
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient in English
    • Proactive commitment to Health & Safety
    • Physically fit to undertake job related tasks. Remain Drug-free with pass regular ongoing screening
    • Great attitude, enthusiastic and ability to self-motivate
    • Be dependable and punctual
    • Current and clean NZ full drivers licence
    • No criminal convictions
    • Provide your own lockable toolbox and provide and maintain a basic set of fabrication and measuring tools
    • Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures - MIG is our preferred welding procedure, but MMA and TIG may also be required
    • Respectful to your work colleges, supervisors and management team
    • Technically competent with practical mind than can figure things out
    • Understand the importance of being part of a Team as the goals of the company are not achievable as individuals
    • Able to work unsupervised and well organised while leading a group of welders
    • Professional Certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate) will be an advantage
    • Forklift training an advantage
    This role is workshop based without travelling, work hours: 8.00 to 16.30 Monday to Friday - overtime may be required due to peaks of demand.
