    Based 5mins south of Rotorua, Red Stag Timber Ltd operates Waipa Mill, New Zealand's largest timber processing site, employing approx. 400 staff and contractors.

    An opportunity has arisen within the Commercial-IT team for a development role in information systems. We need a trouble shooter with the ability to apply sound logic to diagnose and correct issues, support and train users, improve, document and safeguard our Production IT systems, developing new solutions with a focus on accuracy, stability, usability and optimisation of our production-focused IT systems. This includes developing data collection, reports and analysis from our optimisation software, timber grading systems and process control systems.

    This role will work with our Business Analysts and operational teams to undertake work including supporting our existing systems, new developments & version upgrades and business continuity planning.

    To be successful in this role, we require candidates who have the following skills and attributes:
    • Ideally have 5yrs+ fulltime experience, working with information technology / information systems, preferably in a high-tech industrial environment
    • Expert knowledge of computers, networking, process engineering, software support, documentation and development.
    • Specific experience using Microsoft SQL Server Database Engine; ability to create and maintain business continuity plans, report writing.
    • Ideally have some previous exposure to Visual basic; ASP.Net; iFix SCADA and PI.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to relate to both IT and operational staff
    • Adopts a reliable, responsive and flexible 'can-do' customer focussed approach to work
    • Holds full NZ residency and any required work visa (if applicable)
