  • Odyssey House along with Pathway Trust are operating a women's residential alcohol and other drug treatment service. He Kete Oranga o te Mana Wahine is aimed at women involved in the criminal justice system seeking support and treatment.

    We are looking for a practitioner to support clients within the programme, both as a facilitator of groups and a key worker for individual clients. There is also an Aftercare aspect of this role, working alongside the wahine when they return to their families and communities.

    Our model, based on a therapeutic community, means that staff support recreation, medication and family activities as well as treatment plans.

    You will be working in a rural residential setting, 20 mins south of Christchurch city so reliable transport is a must.

    Hours are rostered in advance, between 24- 40 hours per week.

    You will need:
    • good organisational skills
    • ability to complete alcohol and other drug assessments preferred, or willingness to learn and complete studies in this area
    • be a strong communicator both one on one and in groups.
    • to be a team player working with clinicians and support workers
    • have experience in Mental Health and/or Alcohol or Other Drug treatment
    • registered and qualified in an allied health profession (or working towards)
