A superb job opportunity for a qualified Timber Machinist has arisen to join our Remanufacturing team and be part of New Zealand's leading Timber Industry business, located in fabulous Rotorua.
Red Stag Timber operates Waipa Mill, New Zealand's largest timber manufacturing site, located just 5 mins south of the CBD. Using leading edge technology the Mill's production capacity is in excess of 650,000m3 per annum. Our operational focus is on providing quality structural timber for the NZ domestic and overseas export markets, and maintaining excellence in workplace safety and customer service.
An opportunity has arisen within our Remanufacturing plant for an experienced and L4 Trade Qualified Timber Machinist to provide specialist support to the plant, and also operate the finger jointing equipment. This is a fulltime position with hours of work being 40hrs/week Monday to Thursday from 5.00am to 3.40pm, plus Friday overtime/maintenance as required.
The preferred candidate will be a hands-on, reliable and physically fit person who will:
Hold a NZQA L4 Timber Machining qualification, with Workshop experience including knife and cutter grinding, head setting and machine maintenance.
Have minimum 5 years recent work experience in a similar Remanufacturing plant operation
Have experience setting up and operating a Western Pneumatics lug finger jointer or Grecon Turbo S batch jointer and Weinig 22b Planer.
Demonstrate a sound knowledge of machining, operational and general workplace safety
Have experience using industrial adhesives
Possess an excellent eye for detail and accuracy, and knowledge of quality systems
