  • An opportunity has arisen for a Trainee to join the team in our Kilns department. This career path will provide specialized learning to become a qualified Kiln Operator, learning offered on-the-job to complete the New Zealand Certificate in Timber Drying Level 4.

    This is a fulltime position, with hours of work initially being Monday to Friday from 6.00am to 2.30pm. The successful candidate will be required to join a 24/7 rotating roster as the need arises, so the ability to work nights and/or weekends in the future is essential.

    The preferred candidate will have completed a minimum L2 NCEA Qualification. Excellent communication and physical fitness are requirements of this role, along with a sound work ethic and confirmed reliability.

    A current driver's licence is required, as operation of mobile plant will be included in the on-job training.

    Duties include:
    • Training in the safe preparation and recording of Kiln charges
    • Monitoring of process and quality control of output
    • Operation of Loader
    • Maintenance of Kiln bogies as required
    • Housekeeping of Kiln stand kept to a high standard
    A pre-employment drug test and medical will apply.

    Aptitude testing will be completed during interviews for shortlisted candidates.
