    Odyssey House Christchurch has been providing drug and alcohol treatment programmes for over 30 years across many settings. He Kete Oranga o te Mana Wahine is a residential programme based 20 mins from the centre of Christchurch.

    As part of our team, you will deliver and enhance the cultural program aspects, from facilitating activities to sharing knowledge of Maori Tikanga. You will provide cultural input to guide and support tangata whai ora and other team members, as well as weave Maori practices of wellbeing into the day to day programme.

    You will have experience with:
    • Leading Kapa haka and waiata
    • Knowledge of local cultural environment that can be shared
    • Practices that support health and wellbeing of wahine
    • Connecting wahine and whanau to local Maori supports
    You will have:
    • A high level of understanding of tikanga Maori and its importance within this setting
    • A relevant interest in mental health, alcohol and other drug recovery and wellbeing
    • Skills in group delivery and individual interventions
    • Skills in delivering activities from a Maori and Pasifika framework
    • Excellent professional judgement and strong boundaries

    Due to the location of the service, being 20 mins drive from Christchurch central, you will have reliable transport, and be flexible about working hours to support the wahine and their whanau.
