  • Smart Auto Shop is a specialized Auto Repairer to all makes and models of passenger vehicles and is one of the best-equipped body shop and Compliance centres in Auckland. We currently employ over 30 staff within 3 divisions located across 2 Auckland locations. Within the next 12 months all the business divisions will be consolidated on one purpose-built mega-site.

    Due to continued growth an opportunity has become available for an Automotive Technician to join our team at Smart Auto Shop.

    Reporting to the Workshop Manager you will be a key part of our team responsible for:
    • General Service, Maintenance and Repairs of passenger and light commercial vehicles per OEM specifications
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults
    • Engine, Transmission, Suspension repairs, Wheel Alignment
    • Share experience, knowledge, and expertise with the team members
    • At times delegate tasks to the Junior Technicians and assist with their upskilling and training
    • Maintain a cooperative working relationship with colleagues, suppliers, contractors, and customers
    • Actively contribute to ongoing innovation by making suggestions for improvement and embracing change

    Our successful applicant will have:
    • 5+ years of experience as a Qualified Technician (Wheel Alignment experience is ideal but not essential)
    • WOF authority (a must)
    • High level of technical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting ability
    • Ability to think on your feet and find solutions to complex technical problems
    • Ability to assist workshop manager in workload planning and delivering on time
    • A full class 1 drivers licence
    • A strong work ethic, quality workmanship and commitment to health and safety guidelines
    • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
    • A professional appearance and a positive can do attitude
    • A clean criminal record
    This is a full time role working Monday - Friday, 8am-4:30pm with occasional overtime available.
