  • We are a new company, Fortune Master Broker Limited beneficially owned by China interests based locally here in New Zealand and shortly to be registered on the NZ Financial Services Provider Register as a broker and manager of client funds for investment.

    We are looking for a New Zealand based employee or consultant to manage our NZ business.

    First and foremost, you must have some investment experience in New Zealand's financial markets as a broker, compliance manager or have assisted in management of funds or unit trusts. There is no requirement you be a registered financial adviser (RFA) as we intend to try and operate at a wholesale level with clients from Hong Kong and China. However, if you are qualified as a RFA or QFA then, subject to experience and a remuneration package acceptable to us, we may consider you.

    You must also be able to demonstrate you have some experience in and undertake the following responsibilities:
    • Providing information to wholesale investors and others of investment opportunities in NZ with an emphasis on investment funds, shares, unit trusts and managing and reporting to the investment clients or to overall compliance manager in China
    • Develop and implement a business plan to achieve long term new customer growth in your key sector
    • Reporting and insights that will assist in driving growth sector strategies
    • Work collaboratively with our China Office and management to ensure successful onboarding of new clients
    • Build strong relationships and networks both internally and externally
    • Undertake all necessary compliance programs required by the FMA, including AML requirements, developing an AML programme with the local NZ director, supervising bank deposits from clients and managing of clients funds, developing a reporting programme in relation to client funds invested, arranging and supervising any audit requirements of client trust account, liaising with fund managers and investment firms on secure safe and secure investments for clients, supervising overall compliance required and liaison with local NZ Director and HK and China compliance manager on compliance issues;
    • Ensure the highest level of credit disciplines and compliance adherence.
    To be considered for this role you need not be a RFA but we would expect a minimum of 3 years' experience in the finance industry and some knowledge of FMA requirements where managing and investing client funds is involved. A keen interest and understanding of the New Zealand capital markets, fund management or investment, intergenerational wealth transfer etc. are important.

    The position may well suit a retired person or someone with the appropriate experience, who is motivated and comfortable working autonomously on a part time basis. However, approach and method of working is flexible.

    Remuneration is negotiable and the position will be in Auckland Region.
