    Odyssey House Christchurch has been providing drug and alcohol treatment programmes for over 30 years across many settings. The Drug Treatment Programme at Christchurch Men's Prison, seeks to address alcohol and drug harm by supporting tangata whai ora (people seeking wellness). The programme offers a mix of clinical approaches underpinned by Maori and Pasifika concepts of health and wellbeing from a Therapeutic Community model.

    As part of our team at the Drug Treatment Programme, you will build upon the excellent work already being done in the programme. Your role will include supporting cultural program aspects, assessments and delivery of individual and group interventions for tangata whai ora.

    You will provide cultural input to guide and support tangata whai ora and other team members.

    You will have:
    • A high level of understanding of tikanga Maori and its importance within this setting
    • A relevant qualification in community or health or be willing to work towards this
    • Skills in group and individual interactions
    • Skills in delivering services from a Maori and Pasifika framework
    • Excellent professional judgement and strong boundaries
    • Report writing skills and computer proficiency
    • An appreciation of working in a Corrections environment
