  • MAINTENANCE TEAM LEADER

    We are currently seeking to recruit a Maintenance Team Leader for our Secondary Processing Team to provide leadership to a small team of mechanical fitters. We see this as a key role which will support the continuous improvement of our timber processing operations, and work alongside our Production teams. Reporting to the Secondary Processing Maintenance Co-ordinator this is a hands-on, fulltime role working Mon-Thursday dayshift with overtime available as required.

    Applicants must hold a NZ recognised L4 or Advanced Trade Certificate in Mechanical Engineering (Fitter/Turner) and have relevant work experience.

    The successful applicant will need to be able to demonstrate a high level of skill including methodical root cause analysis, sound diagnostic and plant condition monitoring, an understanding of maintenance planning, and be 100% committed to workplace safety.

    We offer competitive remuneration including tool allowance, to successful candidates who demonstrate the required skills and reliability.

    Hours of work are Monday to Friday 6.00am - 2.30pm.

    MAINTENANCE WEEKEND FITTER

    An opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Fitter to join our Maintenance team on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Assistant Maintenance Manager, this is a hands-on position, working alongside the Weekend Shift Secondary Processing Teams. A combination of preventative maintenance and break down work to assist our experienced Operators and Electricians with various mechanical maintenance requirements, ensures each day has a degree of variety and challenge.

    To be successful you will:
    • Hold a NZ recognised trade qualification in Mechanical Engineering
    • Have four or more years- experience as a trade fitter, preferably in a heavy manufacturing
      environment
    • Be skilled in hydraulics, pneumatics, fabrication, bearing fitment, setup and alignment
    • Understand mechanical drawings and deliver high quality work - Have demonstrated
      history of being a team player
    • Demonstrate a 'Safety first' approach to planning and carrying out non-routine tasks
    • Have some knowledge of timber processing
    Hours of work are Friday to Monday 6:00am - 4:30pm. The successful candidate will receive a competitive remuneration package, and enjoy being part of a positive and progressive business.

    TRADES ASSISTANT/FIRE WATCH OFFICER - WEEKEND SHIFT

    We seek a Trades Assistant / Fire Watch Officer to assist the weekend maintenance team with hot work fire watch duties, cleaning and general maintenance. This is a dayshift position working 30hrs / week, Friday to Sunday from 6.00am to 4.30pm and reports to the Assistant Maintenance Manager.

    The ideal candidate will hold current forklift certification. Sound industrial experience, preferably in a sawmill environment would be an advantage and a safety-first attitude is essential.

    A full pre-employment medical and drug test will be required.
