Nestled at the foot of the Four Peaks Mountain Range in Geraldine - South Canterbury, Barker's has been on the corner of the original family farm since 1969. With 230+ employees at our busy head office and factory, the job opportunities are diverse and exciting.
We are on the hunt for enthusiastic, physically fit and hard-working individuals to take up what can be fast-paced and demanding roles.
What does it mean to be a Cook?:
Putting all the right ingredients into a large-scale cooking pot!
We need people that can follow recipes, direct filling staff and have an eye for detail.
What does it mean to be a Machine Operator?:
With a variety of very clever machines on site, with varying levels of automation, we need people who have a passion for machines.
This means that you enjoy trouble shooting when things go pear-shaped and you can make quick decisions to allow the products to continue down the line.
What does it mean to be a Packer?:
How our customers receive our product is in your hand.
We need people that take pride in how the products are presented.
You'll need an eye for detail and the ability to step up to learn how to operate equipment if required.
In order to be considered for these roles you must have the following attributes:
Be physically fit, these are hands on and at times physical roles
Reliable, responsible and of good character
Be a positive influence in a team environment
Have the flexibility to work morning and afternoon shifts, with some additional hours on occasion
Demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow while ensuring a safe and healthy work environment
While previous experience in a food processing environment would be an advantage for any of these roles, what we value most is your positive attitude and reliability.
In return we will offer a unique combination of job challenge, career development and lifestyle. If you have the skills and are interested in being a part of a company that values and supports its people, then we encourage your application.
