For over 30 years, Odyssey House Trust Christchurch has been working with clients affected by drug and alcohol addiction, mental health and related issues. We focus on the wellbeing of individuals, family and community.
The Community Brief Intervention team offer up to six face to face or telephone, brief intervention counselling sessions for clients experiencing substance abuse issues, using a harm reduction model to AOD use.
This city centre service provides appointments during the day and evenings, so flexibility around working hours is required. The team also support other services such as the nationwide meth help phone line, so you will get a lot of variety in the role.
We are looking for a hard-working, experienced clinician to join our friendly team.
To be successful, you will:
hold a Health Professional Qualification
have clinical experience in AOD and/or mental health work.
be a strong communicator both face to face and by phone
have availability to work 3 evenings per week
The team runs out of the Christchurch Central Service building, and works in collaboration with key partners within the AOD sector.
