  • 2019 marks the 50th anniversary for Barker's of Geraldine and the much-anticipated, inaugural opening of the Barker's Food Store & Eatery, located in the heart of Geraldine. Construction is well underway with an opening date set for September 2019.

    We are now welcoming applications of interest for a passionate Business Manager for the Food Store & Eatery to help lead the team that will drive its future success.

    About the Role:
    This Geraldine based position will be responsible for managing the operation of the Food Store & Eatery to optimise quality service, business growth and a world-class customer experience, while at the same time enhancing the Barker's brands.

    We are seeking a candidate who will:
    • Not be afraid to be hands-on with their team and the operation
    • Manage the development and management of budgets and budget reviews
    • Oversee the service and shop teams to ensure an outstanding customer experience
    • Develop and implement marketing plans
    • Work closely with suppliers, including negotiating contracts
    • Ensure we excel in all areas of Food Safety
    • Recruit, train and coach team members
    • Provide the team with outstanding and effective leadership
    • Operate a safe working environment for both employees and customers
    Managing a team of up to 15, this role will not be short of challenges and opportunities!

    To be successful in your application you will:
    • Possess a broad knowledge and understanding of hospitality and retail businesses
    • Have a commercial mind-set, with extensive leadership experience
    • Have a customer service ethos
    • Be able to operate autonomously, working effectively in high pressure and fast paced environments
    • Be committed to continuous improvement
