Parnell +Co is a well-established, long term wholesale business distributing premium home decor, furniture & giftware throughout New Zealand and Australia.
We require a self-motivated and organised Purchasing Officer with a can-do attitude to join our small friendly team based in Glenside. A varied role touching most areas of our business the right person will find it rewarding and fun.
Preparing and placing orders with international factories
Providing detailed production and packaging requirements
Regular follow up with suppliers to ensure they meet expected delivery dates
Booking freight with our freight forwarders
Tracking delivery schedules
Resolving any issues / delays with suppliers and customs.
Receiving and tracking credits for faulty product
Assisting the product administrator and buyers with factory relationships
Other skills and attributes include:
Office Administration experience
Knowledge of Freight Forwarding
Experience with Purchasing and factory supplier relationships
Strong computer skills
Ability to work to deadlines
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
An enthusiastic attitude and the ability to work in a team
This is a part time maternity cover role, 20 hours per week which are completely flexible within the office opening hours of 8.30am-5pm Monday - Friday.
Occasional travel may be required to National Gift Fairs 3 times per year for up to 4 nights at a time.
