  • MiIT is a rapidly expanding IT company, our services include cloud hosted infrastructure, internet services, VoIP telephony, multi-tenanted hosted exchange, computer hardware sales and support, and level 1 to 3 support of our client base. Our customer base is principally located in NZ and Australia.

    The role is varied and presents a great opportunity for you to develop and grow with the company. You will gain exposure to a wide range of technologies in size and scope from small business workgroups through to enterprise environments.

    Initially this is an entry / intermediate level position which will see you providing first and second tier support to end users on a variety of issues. You will be identifying and resolving technical problems on Microsoft software, networking issues, mobile devices and escalating and assisting complex support requirements to 2nd/3rd level support as required.

    Your responsibilities will include responding to telephone calls, email, and personnel requests for technical support as well as documenting, tracking, and monitoring the problem to ensure a timely resolution. Accordingly, you must have confident and fluent English communication skills.

    The nature of this position is predominately 8.30 am to 5.30 pm Monday to Friday, however, there are commitments outside of working hours to meet customers' expectations and outcomes.

    The successful candidate will have exposure to:
    • Windows Server (2008R2, 2012R2, 2016), Active Directory
    • Microsoft Exchange Server (2013, 2016)
    • Microsoft 365
    • Computer networks, including firewalls, routers, Wi-Fi
    To be successful you will need:
    • 2+ years experience working in the IT industry in a support / systems administration role
    • A solid understanding of servers, networks, and PC hardware
    • Desire to live and work in and around Auckland
    • Solid phone and customer-facing skills and enjoy collaborating with team members
    • Written, verbal communication and documentation skills
    • A strong commitment to expand your current experience and skill set
    • Excellent problem solving and organisational skills
    • Ability to work in a team environment
    • Self-motivation and able to work with limited supervision, excellent time management, leadership and motivational skills
    Experience in any of the following areas is positive:
    • Experience with Active Directory, and Exchange, Remote Desktop Services
    • Hands-on experience with routers, switches, and firewalls
    • VPN access and redundant ISP load balancing
    • Experience with virtualized Hyper-V environments
    • Experience with on premise and cloud based backup solutions and email archiving solutions
    • Mobile device setup and management (phones, tablets, etc.)
    • Office 365
    • VoIP telephone systems
    While experience and outcomes mean more than certification, Microsoft or Cisco qualifications such as MCITP or CCNA will be preferable.
