  • We are looking for an experienced practitioner to join our friendly team at the Drug Treatment Programme at Christchurch Men's Prison. Our current co-ordinator has taken a senior role within our community team, his replacement will build upon the excellent work already achieved in the programme. This key role provides management and clinical leadership to the treatment team as well ensuring effective delivery of the programme in line with current best practice. Reporting to the Clinical Manager you will be delivering the group work programme and providing individual support.

    The successful applicant with have excellent organisational skills and experience of working in the AOD sector and the ability to make a difference.

    Applicants must hold a health professional qualification.

    Competitive rates of pay.
    Start date beginning of May 2018.
    Support can be offered with relocation expenses if required.

    Ideally, the successful candidate will have:
    • Relevant qualification in Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD), social work or mental health
    • A willingness to embrace the Therapeutic Community (TC) Model
    • Experience in clinical team leadership
    • Proven ability to work collaboratively and manage relationships with key stakeholders
    • A strong understanding of quality and risk management systems
    • The ability to manage multiple deadlines
    • Significant experience working in the AOD/mental health field
    • Excellent clinical judgement and strong clinical boundaries
    • A high level of understanding of tikanga Maori and its importance within this setting
    • Report writing skills and computer proficiency
    • An understanding of working in a correctional environment
    • A strong ability to complete informative and up to date records
