Play a vital role with Odyssey House Christchurch
Odyssey House Trust is a globally recognised leader in the field of Alcohol and Drug rehabilitation along with other related issues. Christchurch Odyssey was established in 1985 initially focused solely on adults with addictions. In 2012 the Community Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) was established to provide treatment for young people (13-18 years) with mild to moderate mental health issues and AoD.
The role will include the following key components:
Provide a mix of intervention models, comprehensive assessment for youth and navigating a path to wellbeing
Has experience in liaising with GP practices, NGO agencies, Specialist Mental Health Services and the family's/whanau support networks
To motivate our young people to make positive and responsible decisions
Is energised working within a team environment but can work independently as well
To provide a short-term service for young people
Significant mental health and AoD experience
The successful candidate must be a registered health professional or working towards a registration. This is a 1.0FTE (fulltime) fixed for one year position with flexible hours to meet the needs of our young people.
You'll need excellent communication and it is vital that you can relate well to young people. You will also need good interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with family/whanau, colleagues, and other health providers.
