Employment Specialist (Supported) - One Year fixed term

32-40 hours per week
Odyssey House Trust is a globally recognised leader in the field of Alcohol and Drug rehabilitation along with other related issues. Christchurch Odyssey was established in 1985 initially focused solely on adults with addictions. In 2012 the Community Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) was established to provide treatment for young people (13-18 years) with mild to moderate mental health issues and AoD.
You will have great community links and sound relationships with recruitment agencies within the Canterbury region. You will be able to introduce young people (18-19 years) to employment options.
This role will include the following:
Delivery of workshops (group facilitation) to young people currently receiving a Work and Income benefit
Motivate and direct young people through all job seeking processes
Build and maintain relationships with employers and community organisations ensuring sustainable employment connections
Matching skills and strengths of young people with the needs of employers and industry
Post placement, maintain a relationship with the young person's employer and provide advice and support if needed to help keep the young person employed.
An awareness of Mental Health and AoD experience would be desirable as well as a strong team focus and the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
