We are looking for a Maintenance Fitter to join our Maintenance Engineering team at our busy Mt Wellington site. You will work within a team that maintains our infrastructure and equipment.
The ideal candidate will be a tradesman with experience in a production maintenance/workshop role in a lean manufacturing environment. Preference will be given to those with experience in pneumatic and hydraulic systems. You will also complete tasks with a high degree of autonomy and have good communication skills, machining skills (lathe and mill), and welding skills (gas, arc, MIG, and TIG).
Key responsibilities include:
Maintain plant and equipment through published PM plans so process standard times can be achieved
Respond to equipment failures in a timely manner applying diagnostic approach to eliminate repetition
Installation of new plant and machinery
Design and manufacture of jigs and fixtures
Keep accurate records of machine maintenance and equipment calibration
Make recommendations for improvements to products and processes
Participate in improvement programmes
Have a focus on health and safety
Trade Certificate or similar
Flexibility to work additional hours as required to meet changes in demand would be advantageous.
